Charles Dickens - Oliver Twist

CHARLES DICKENS

Charles John Huffam Dickens was born in February the 7th in 1812. He lived in Portsmouth, in England, but moved to London when he was 9 years old. Charles was a writer and a social critic. One of his most famous books that he wrote was Oliver Twist and now there's many different movies that are based on the book. Charles was 12 years old when he left school to work in a factory after that his father was thrown into debtors’ prison.

Later in life, in 1834, he became a journalist. He got to travel all over UK just to rapport the parlamentdebate. He worked for the newspaper Morning Chronicle.

He had a wife and 10 children, but he kicked out his wife cause he fell in love with an 18 year old girl.

OLIVER TWIST

The movie that we watched was about a young orphan boy named Oliver Twist. He lived at the municipal almshouse with a lot of other orphan children. Oliver had to find another place to live in after that he got kicked out from the house when he one day asked for more food.
He found a place were he could live with a normal family, but in the family there was a boy who always teased him. So Oliver decided to walk to London instead. Then his adventure started.
